The proposal is four storeys in an area that is a three storey zone.

The site was a previous previous fuel service station. Creating the basement carpark risks contamination being spread via the water table into our garden and onward to the creek.

This zone is: Primarily business and innovation - this development is predominantly residential.
Medium density housing - this development proposal is high density.

The proposal is four storeys in an area that is a three storey zone. we have only just found out about this development thru a neighbour - and have had no notice from planning or council re the project. We have been unable to look at the planned proposal and how it affects residential housing in edsall st and beyond.
planning should be in line with other 2 storey buildings on the same block

I had no notification on this as a resident in the vicinity.
I have strong feelings about yet more high density dwellings being erected, in this case of dubious legitimacy/legality - plans are for 4 stories. It is 4 STORIES IN A 3 STORY ZONE.
I doubt the Parade has capacity for all the traffic which will ensue from high density residentials [Norwood already has ENOUGH] not filled. Residents DO NOT WANT added frustrations of traffic clogs, additional traffic in side streets, further desecration of the character of the suburb.
It is unfair to residents who pay their rates to further lose sunlight, moonlight and to lose what is left of beauty and character in Norwood. It is undesirable to residents and rate payers to pay rates at increasing rates when the living values of Norwood decrease with hideous high rise.
Again: what about the traffic? The carbon footprint? The HEADACHES. Why should residents, paying the rates we pay, lose whatever aesthetic enjoyment exists currently for the sake of government greed?
Why should anyone abide by the laws if council permits zone violations for the sake of money which would lead to masses of bitterness, criticism, problems associated with high density. This should go to court if local opinions aren't considereed. Local opinions SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. Despite the fact of insufficient to non existent CONSULTATION

Unfortunately if a development worth 3 mill or more we don't get a say, I know, we had 11 stories built opposite us at Kent Town, didn't have a say & couldn't stop it!
