The height of the building is concerning creating overshadowing. The location is also already heavily congested and will cause further traffic problems and safety concerns.

As a local resident, I fully support this development. The Hare Krishnas have been a part of North Sydney for over four decades now and they deserve a rebuild of their old existing structure. The community has greatly helped me through their food distribution and educational lifestyle programs over the years. I am sure this will be a fantastic development in our area and a future iconic, heritage-worthy structure for North Sydney.

The Iskcon organisation, commonly referred to as Hare Krishna, is a peaceful community that contributes significantly to the North Sydney Local Government Area (LGA). It offers a wide range of educational programs, including meditation classes, cultural and artistic activities for both children and adults, and most notably, a complimentary food service to all members of the community. The organisation has maintained its current structure for over five decades and presents an underutilised space given its location and purpose.
The proposed project, which includes the provision of additional car parking, would have a profound impact on the entire community of North Sydney LGA. It would benefit both the Iskcon “Food for Life” program, which provides free meals three times a day to those in need, and the educational programs that foster cultural diversity and provide emotional and mental support to those who require it.
As a regular visitor to the temple for the past fifteen years, I have witnessed the growth and development of the community. This growth has led to an increased demand for ancillary services, such as car parking, which the proposed development will address.
Therefore, I wholeheartedly support the DA proposal.
