Does anyone stop and think past profit on these things?
The roads are rubble, the traffic is gridlock at peak hours and even during the day. The infrastructure will not cope with this and who cares? Not the developers that’s for sure

I am extremely concerned, about the impacts any new housing developments will have on us into the future.
Roads, drainage, houses, footpaths, sheds, driveways etc all creating a direct pathway into major drainage systems .
My questions are as follows.
WHAT IS THE STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR WATER THAT" CAN NOT " BE RETAINED WITHIN THE PROPOSED LOT SUBDIVISIONS PROPOSED FOR NUMBER 130 JOHNS RD WADALBA ?
( Regardless of stormwater management plans for individual homes, I.e water tanks , grassed areas, gardens etc, and not including water retention ponds/ dams within the housing estate ).
ONCE ALL WATER TANKS, STORM WATER STORAGE DAMS/ PONDS ARE AT CAPACITY, HOW WILL THIS WATER BE DIVERTED AND WHERE WILL IT BE DIVERTED TO ?
HOW WILL THIS WATER IMPACT NUMBER 327 TUGGERAWONG ROAD AND NEIGHBOURING PROPERTIES?
WILL COUNCIL BE USING IN-HOUSE ENGINEERS OR WILL IT BE A MIXTURE OF IN-HOUSE AND CONTRACTED EXPERTS WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR FLOOD MANAGEMENT REPORTS ?

Once again we have a development being planned without the consideration of the impacts of already residing residents. Has council not seen the problem with over development already in our area. Why pay rates or fees we live in a council where our roads are beyond the constant repair patching, we have no resolution to the impact the flooding situation that is happening more often has on the area. No infustructure to keep up with it all. Traffic problems, hospital & Dr wait times. Hell we don't even have a maternity ward at Wyong anymore. It's getting beyond a joke. Is council going to cover the repair cost on my home/property, car. For the damage being caused by lack of anything ever getting done PROPERLY!! I'm lucky I can insure my home with the floods been more the problem... How's your drainage, sewerage system going to cope with all the extra homes & people. Will council pay my excess on insurance to have things fixed? Why do I need to pay fees to council for eg. A shed being built properly to your guidelines if your making the flooding situation worse. How bout stop being so money hungry and think of the bigger picture first before making the leap.

I am situated on Tuggerawong Road and this will impact our suburb due to increased flooding. More developments surrounding the swamp lands are creating more run off. The state of the roads during and after rain events are atrocious already, without adding additional traffic and more run off. The only way in or out of Rocky Point, Tuggerawong and Wyongah to get to Tuggerah is Johns Road and it already is in such a state of disrepair without extra traffic. With increased run off it will then make it even more likely that a large amount of houses in this area will flood.

This area cannot support more housing. The air and water quality and natural diversity are all diminishing due to land clearance. There are 2 doctors surgeries in the area that still have open books and neither bulk bill. Wyong hospital is operating at Max capacity in almost all of it's wards. The schools are full and the roads have not been built to support the severe increase in traffic over the last 5 years. Finally, the cost of housing in this area is spiralling out of control with each new land release. It is not helping the housing crisis, it is contributing to it.

Can council ensure sufficent infrastructure is built into this development planning to mitigate water run off not resulting in more flooding impact to Warner Ave and Tuggerawong Rd, if not, why not..

Existing residents strongly oppose development on this land and surrounding lands. Currently, streets including January street, and Warner Avenue are heavily impacted by weather events and subject to intense flooding.

Last month in the declared natural disaster, Warner Avenue and January street were completely underwater for 2 days.

The solution of using the poor "drainage system" on Jensen road is currently inadequate, and with additional development you are threatening existing homes further, and livelihood. Due to this poor drainage system, residents on Warner Avenue and January street had to drive through floodwater should they want to leave their homes. With the escalating level of severe weather events you are creating a region of unlivable land for existing residents.

Further, There is a poor level of support for residents, with minimal to no support with maintenance of existing and blocked street drains, due to existing blocked drains there is issues with the roads degrading, as well as higher risk of flooding houses due to no storm water being able to drain adequately.

Currently, the open ditch drains are full, and blocked with debris, with some fully blocked and closed and no action from council.

There is also a very widespread mosquito problem to due the existing lack of maintenance and poor drainage in the area, with some residents unable to use their outdoor areas in parts of Tuggerawong.

Urgent council attention is required, and there should be no development on this land for both the existing concerns detailed above, and also the ongoing impact on wildlife, flora and fauna in the area.

Residents will continue to lobby for action and support.
