Hi
I am concerned if adequate parking for this small scale development is not built in. There is increasing traffic in this shopping hub. Access to amenities for locals is important.
Has there been a traffic impact assessment for the 7 dwellings ( possibly up to approx 14 additional cars).
Is the design complimentary to the heritage / entertainment / library / community district?
If the developer / builder is not willing to provide parking as part of its development - this should not come as part of the expense of this unique community entertainment district and amenity.
The building should visually contribute positively to the unique aesthetic of this wonderful community hub.
By all means increase the density of housing - but there must be guardrails to prevent inappropriate development that seeks to use community assets (parking for shopping, community facilities and entertainment). This development will also bring car visitors to this traffic dense area that is also a public transport hub.
With land and street-space at a premium - new developments must be sustainable and follow good design principles.
