I do not agree with this application and am very disappointed that council would allow this, the houses in this estate have NOT been zoned for this kind of housing and the estate should remain as is and not be divided up, that is why we bought here to enjoy the space between the houses. If people wish to live on smaller blocks they can do so, where it is zoned for such.
A lot of people walk around our roads with children heading for the children’s park and dog park. My concern is, if the garage is fulled down both these properties will park on the street. There is a roundabout here that will make it very difficult for parking and thru traffic, and what about neighbouring residents and their visitors? Plus the privacy of neighbours on both sides will be compromised by high walls. We are in a high density school zone, allowing this will put much more pressure on our already overly busy roads. If you allow one person to do this more may follow and we do not want this in our estate. Please consider our objection, Thank you.

I very strongly object to the approval of the Application Ref. No. A006738409 for the re configuration of Lot 69 Berkshire Cr., Wishart,4122.
1. This estate is listed as a low density housing estate with reasonable sized blocks for family sized homes utilising the majority of the land.
2. The estate isn't old enough for demolition of existing houses to enable the subdivisions of equal sizes.
3. The frontage of this proposed block is smaller than a double garage door.
4. It is completely out of character with the rest of the estate.
5. Closeness to the roundabout will add to the street parking congestion especially with the existing house having to demolish their garage.
Please give serious thought to the character of the estate when making this decision.
Thankyou.
1. In order to access where we live, St. George Court and St. Andrew Place, we have to pass through Berkshire Crescent from Wishart Rd. The street frontage of the proposed development is just before a very narrow roundabout where street parking negatively affects roundabout access. This street is already very narrow. It seems both blocks will need street parking, as one garage is being deleted and the second block's frontage is below minimum, frontage regulations. Vehicles parked on the street will dangerously affect roundabout access!!!
2. I visit my friends regularly in Berkshire Crescent, needing regular, roundabout usage, and it is difficult backing out safely already, without cars being parked right up to roundabout access!!!
3. Primary and Secondary School students stream through this street twice a day on pushbikes, walking or driven in cars to local schools as evidenced by Council's Safe School Congestion Plan. Many school students even come through the estate from streets behind the estate, to take a short cut to access their schools.
4. I strongly object to the added congestion and subsequent lack of safety this proposal will cause to an estate of existing narrow streets, especially as the estate was never planned for high density housing and
Berkshire Crescent is the only thorough-fare to access homes on the Western side of the estate.
We live on this estate and strongly oppose this application:
1. This area is a low density zone with large character detached homes. The aesthetic of the whole neighbourhood will be changed. The street that the proposal is on is also very narrow and so will lead to excessive congestion and problems with parking. There is simply not enough space, and the extra vehicles it will make the roundabout access there very difficult.
2. The subdivision will lead to overcrowding in the area and put a strain on existing infrastructure. The local schools are already over subscribed and parking and traffic near schools in the area is already an issue.
3. Local children walk or use push bikes through this estate to get to schools and excessive traffic from subdivision will be more dangerous. The existing infrastructure will not support safe access for walking children.
4. We have chosen to live in this area due to its quiet nature and beautiful homes. This precedent will allow more subdivisions and potentially change the reason why people chose to live here. It is also a prestigious area of Wishart known for higher priced single dwellings. The houses are strong brick homes that are not old enough to be knocked down. The proposal does not align at all with the character of the estate at all.
