Everyone i have spoken to in my area and emerald agree we need a better hardware like bunnings that carry a wider and affordable products. Most feel that applications being denied is a misuse of power because councilers have shares in mitre 10.

Bunnings must see growth possibilities if they are opening a store in EMD. Hopefully more retailers like ALDI will follow.
I am concerned that the town will hamper this growth opportunity.
Competition in retail is always good. Mitre 10 is expensive with limited choices.
Personally, I am excited to have access to the Bunnings ranges without paying the excessive freight costs or driving to Rockhampton.
It would be good to see the town developing & expanding as a hub for the further outback towns.
