Dear Bondi Residents.

I am writing to urge you to join me in formally objecting to the recent amendments submitted by the developer for DA-271/2022/B at 38 Hall Street. These proposed changes are deeply concerning and, if approved, will set a dangerous precedent for our community. Here are the key issues:

1. Overriding Land and Environment Court Conditions: The developer seeks to remove conditions established by the Land and Environment Court. These protections were put in place to safeguard our community and should not be disregarded.

2. Council Officer Authority: Allowing a Council officer to overrule the Land and Environment Court's decisions undermines the judicial process and could lead to unchecked developments in the future.

3. Height Increase: The proposed amendments further increase the overall height of the development, which already exceeds the height limits. This excessive height is unacceptable and should be strictly regulated.

4. Removal of Green Landscaping: The plan to replace green landscaping with an additional car lift, which was previously removed in the Land and Environment Court, is detrimental to our neighborhood's environment and aesthetic.

5. Commercial Activity in Residential Area: Introducing commercial activity into a purely residential street (something previously rejected by the L&E Court and Waverley Council) will disrupt the character and tranquility of our neighborhood. This commercial encroachment must be stopped.

These changes not only affect the immediate area but set a precedent that could impact all of us. If developers and council officers can override L&E court decisions and push through such amendments, it could happen anywhere in our community. I urge you to voice your objection to these amendments and protect the integrity of our neighborhood.

Please submit your objections and share this message with other residents.

Adrian
