30 Lyons Street, Dover Heights NSW 2030

Description
Remove one (1) Date Palm south west rear corner of site and replace with one (1) local native tree from Council’s Preferred Tree list, of minimum 45L pot size, growing to a mature height greater than 5metres, anywhere on the property within one (1) month of removal. The tree is growing in a small garden bed in the southwestern corner of the site. The garden bed is bordered by the masonry rear boundary wall, the timber side boundary fence and the swimming pool. The base of the tree’s trunk has grown into contact with the adjacent, masonry boundary wall. At the time of the site visit no signs of cracking were identified in the wall; however, it is highly likely that pressure exerted by expansion of the trunk will cause significant damage to the wall. The tree’s root system is also inevitably exerting pressure on the swimming pool shell and over the medium/long term, damage to the pool cannot be ruled out. The Plumbers Report indicates that a damaged sewer boundary shaft is located on the eastern side of the tree and has become overgrown by the base of the trunk. It recommends replacement of damaged sewer pipes and boundary shaft, and in order to undertake the works the tree will need to be removed to access the damaged pipework.
