I live at 31 Donald Street Nelson Bay.
We have 5 units in total on this block and I strongly object to having units with more 'basement parking' at 33 Donald Street.
I overlook 35-37 Donald Street Nelson Bay where 'Angelina' units are being built.
We have endured the excavation, pile driving, building shaking, windows rattling, sand blowing, etc for months - causing some of our units interior damage - which no one wants to take responsibility for.
We are all built on sand - sand moves - buildings shake - damage occurs.
We do not need ANOTHER basement excavation directly under our windows.
At present we are enduring the humming of pumps bought in to lower the water level at 35-37 Donald Street so the lower level basement car park can be deepened and concreted.
These pumps are located on 33 Donald Street.
The question does come to mind "where does the water go after they stop pumping"?
Flooded basement parking??
Should the same excavation be done at 33 Donald I fear our driveway and Units will sustain more damage than has already occurred.
I have no objection to the 21 units BUT - Why can the owner not opt for ground level parking?
This would definitely lower the risk of damage caused TO US and OTHER neighboring properties as has happened with the 'Angelina' excavation.
