I support this proposal.

Parramatta Rd is in desperate need of investment and revitalisation and I think anything that gets foot traffic through the area is a net positive. Such interventions will improve the chances of the shops below this and any other commercial property that opens nearby.

In addition, we have a shortage of hotels which increases the popularity of Airbnb, which in turn cannibalises residential housing supply. We should view this as a general accommodation crisis which can be resolved through the construction of both new hotels and new apartments.

I support this proposal.

It just looks really normal.

Hotel prices are through the roof, as I found when booking accomodation for visitors recently. I turned to Airbnb, which I hated to do, but it was the only feasible option for these visitors.

I strongly support this proposal. Commercial developments are desperately needed (along with medium- and large-scale residential developments) if you want Parramatta to become be the “centre” of anything at all. (I refer to the Greater Sydney Commission‘s “River City”.) This is one of the busiest roads in Sydney, yet if you took away the traffic and looked around, you’d think you were in the high street of some country town, well past it’s heyday. Projects like this will bring jobs and tourists to Parramatta. Additionally, more purpose-built tourist accommodation will help to save housing for its proper purpose: providing residential accommodation.
