It is the view of Croydon Conservation society, that unless the trees are seriously sick or drying or threatening to drop limbs, all mature canopy trees must be maintained to help prevent urban deforestation.
Maroondah has sustained the greatest loss of canopy from around 30 % a few years back to now only 21%. amongst Councils in the Eastern green belt, from Camberwell to Yarra Valley.
In the midst of climate change every tree matters to all of us. So we at CCS oppose the removal of these trees, in principle.
