Where is the Silky Oak? It is not marked on the map. Is it really necessary to remove this tree as it provides food for birds and insects.
There is one document now in this application. It is sad how these 4 trees have not been included in the new rebuild plans. I'm sure there are ways to rebuild whilst preserving trees and nature - what's the council doing about this?
The community would like to see a friendlier application to rebuild that preserve these trees.
I think all applications for tree removal should provide clear photographs of the tree and an arborist report on the health of the tree. The community know nothing about this tree and it's value for the surround wildlife. People are quick to remove trees without thinking of the implications. Yes, I also understand that nature and surround wildlife are not always a priority for some people, but people might change their position on trees if they realise how much of a sound barrier trees provide. In my current location in Roseville, I can see a clear image of the Chatswood skyline walking down my street. 4 years ago, I could not see anything which was likely due to the number of old standing trees. The same can be said for traffic noise and car lights now observed at the other side of Bluegum reserve. I could not see or hear traffic from this stretch 5 yrs ago. I worry about long term impact of the actions of home owners and the failure of our council to do anything.
