Whilst this is a commercial development its location and size would be better suited to be part of the school or community use. I suspect it would have been sought by the dept of education but maybe the property owner was wanting a better offer etc. It should have been re-acquired at fair value for the use of all citizens.

Terry:
Yes, entirely agree. The community has fought hard and long to have DE acquire the property but ultimately we lost this battle. They said no and stated the cost was prohibitive.
Agree with Terry's comment.
Can DE reconsider this? It’s such a great location for school given large number of student at CPS.
I agree that using this site for Chatswood Public School would show vision for the future. This opportunity does not come up often so it should be made the most of.
Time to think of people instead of pockets.
The developments in Chatswood are turning the area into a high rise nightmare when you consider the affects on infrastructure.
