Agree that Gisborne requires more Child Care centres but this site, at a potentially busy intersection with little space for enough off road parking, is really not suitable, Why is it that MRSC & developers in our region continually insist on creating congestion & traffic issues in the region & specifically in Gisborne?

This Childcare center will be placed in a totally unsuitable position at 1 Tasman Rd.
There is already one childcare center on 97-99 Willowbank, another "The learning sanctuary" at 93 Sheedy Rd and council has announced in the Gisborne gazette that another childcare center is going into the commercial development on the Cnr of Willowbank and Brady with 57 off street carparks, at least. That's 3 Childcare centers within a 2km radius already, Thus not needing another on a residential block of land that is not big enough to sustain such a business in this area of Gisborne. It will not have adequate off street parking thus leading to congestion on a residential road which is already to busy. The hours of said childcare center will be out of sync to a residential setting with staff coming and going from 5am to 1900hrs and parents/children making noise during these times, next to (meters) residential house. People need to be able to enjoy their house/backyard/bedroom without noise. This goes against the councils neighborhood character for the area. Its placement is at the outer edge of Gisborne thus making traffic more congested to gain access driving from one side of Gisborne to the other. Better places exist for this type of development Eg. the old Middys site within Gisborne, noise would not an issue there, plenty of space for off street drop off/carparking and could expand. Tasman rd would have zero chance to expand or increase child minding capacity. This is a total unthought out idea to place a Childcare center at 1 Tasman Rd Gisborne. Surely MRSC cant approve such a poorly placed Childcare proposal? Not to mention the cars and trucks that fly down Brooking road all day in the adjacent 80km zone road. Thank you for your time.
