If this application is to cut down the tree on the street corner in the photo, I object. We are seriously needing more shade in Southport and builders should not be allowed to remove what is an already established tree. It does not impact traffic on the road and there is plenty of footpath width. If this application accompanies a complete demolition of the existing building and the construction of a huge tower that a developer wants to build right out to the road, I object strongly. A developer/builder should be compelled to use existing trees in a garden plan to complement whatever he wants to build. He should not be allowed to destroy existing vegetation.
