Ideal development of a vacant block that needs upkeep. The sooner the better.

Development is not in keeping with the street scape of Dromana. All other buildings along Nepean hwy are no taller than two storeys. This will be a very overpowering look. The existing buildings to the south of development will lose sun light and be over shadowed especially in winter. Large number of apartments will create a traffic problem in surrounding streets even though car park is included. Development should be less intrusive and an asset to community not just a money grab for developers!

There are no buildings of this size and height in the area as the development near IGA is much smaller in size. This is such an out of character development and will have long term implications for the environment including traffic and site impact for neighbouring properties. I have no problem with medium density housing but how does this fit the medium density brief? Please don’t spoil the foreshore with three levels and so many apartments in this space. By all means build two level with half the number. I find it interesting that McCrae, Rye, Blairgowrie, Sorrento and Portsea, despite the large block sizes in those area have been able to retain strict development laws.

3 storeys is too high -should be kept at 2 storeys.

We need to get with the times - in the olden days - The Eiffel Tower was considered too high - now at 381m - it stands tall in a great city.
3 storey building is no where near too high - we need some great development to add to Dromana. There are already some 3 storey homes in Dromana and I think they look great.

As a permanent Dromana resident I would like to see this block finally developed after so many years, but 3 storeys is too high- This will have an enduring impact on the amenity of the area: The homes to the South will lose light and views, and the volume of the building needs to be broken by variations in facade treatment (colour, materials etc) so as to not overpower the streetscape.

Council refused to grant this permit, but VCAT overruled.

No point having a planning department in councils anymore as VCAT appear to overrule most council decisions these days - ridiculous.
