This is change for change sake!
The existing tiles are relatively new, in perfect condition and they harmonise with the dark palette of the rest of the block.
The 'Statement of Environmental Effects' states 'The proposal to remove the gloss black tile with more sympathetic design for the building and the conservation area should be deemed acceptable and supported'.
This is nonsense, the replacement maroon tiles will introduce a jarring note in the otherwise harmonious streetscape. Unnecessary waste for what will be a backward step should be discouraged. I urge council to reject this wasteful project.
