The tree canopy in the western suburbs needs increasing.
Please do not remove this tree
Please do not remove this tree far to many trees are being cut down
We have reached a situation where trees are hinderence to greedy developers.
Do we want to sacrifice the beauty of magificent trees, homes for wildlife? apart from the fact they absorb CO2.
Yet again, a significant tree will be removed for what reason?
There are so few significant trees left in this area, all removed for the mighty dollar.
Council, please show some leadership and stop the constant removal of significant trees from this area.
We should not be removing significant tree. What reason has been given? We need to increase the tree canopy in urban areas not reduce it.

This is a Home tree (habitat) for several species of birds and draws water from the natural aquifer (watertable).
Habitat trees are supposed to be protected.
Please retain this tree for the eco system and enviroment that is essential for our survival.
Might be time to vote in council elections! Imagine having a strong council who favours sustainable and thoughtful development over development that eventually results in the removal of habitat trees. I’m tired of looking at the hot box suburbs that we are creating. Crap houses that won’t stand the test of time and that ruin so much of the natural landscape in the process. Just sad.
Does anyone from any council planning department read this information?
Or should we all be emailing our comments directly to each Planning Department?
Yet people complain no housing.
Remove these ugly trees...
People cars get hurt when storms
Complain when the tree hit and killed people because tree saving people really... cut out your need to protect.. move on chop.them down
Please leave the trees alone Once they are gone they are gone. This is a magnficent tree
and home to many native birds. It will be a crime for this tree to be cut down.
Hi everyone, I don't think that Council sees these comments, but I am waiting for confirmation. It would be good for everyone to actually comment on the PLANS SA website, where these development applications are submitted. Then those comments are reported to the Council. Remember that this is a non profit organisation that we can all subscribe to for alerts. Perhaps more importantly, people need to know that the legislation is STATE GOVERNMENT legislation. Councils are the local body that administers that legislation, so Council (all Councils) are bound by what the legislation allows. We all know there are issues with this legislation, and the new Code that was implemented around 12 months ago. I agree that any significant or regulated tree should not be allowed to be removed. Developers have to recognise the importance that canopy plays in climate change and cooling the immediate area. Interestingly, the insurance sector is starting to make sure that those they insure have to disclose any actions that contribute to climate change - mostly this is in the carbon emissions sector, but is moving more towards the natural environment. If people are serious about changing the legislation that allows the removal of trees (and heritage etc.) I would suggest you investigate CASA - Community Alliance SA, and consider becoming a member. They are a strong voice against many of the issues we see in development and planning. I don't belong to CASA, (as I would have a conflict of interest) but I absolutely support the work they do.
