Give them this license on the condition they stop only serving coffee in takeaway cups. They need to lower their footprint. Covid is gone and no longer an excuse.

I'm fine with the license but Sorry to "leave a tiny footprint" covid isn't gone. will be around a while :) Not that I care either way but you are wrong. Hospital admissions are way up though ICU is down

You are absolutely correct Serena. I’ll rephrase. Give them a licence if they stop only using one-use take away cups. Only the lids recyclable , the cup itself is landfill. There is no reason this coffee shop should be selling in nothing but take away cups. Every other coffee shop manages to use real cups and wash them.

They should only be given this licence if they stop selling single use take away cups. Covid is real and here and will be for the foreseeable future, but we now know for sure it is airborne, so vendors (public facing staff) should be wearing masks (as should everyone, really. Fomites are not a big risk.

I agree with the earlier comment that the renewal should be conditional on La Piandena no longer using single use coffee cups. They only provide single use cups, even to customers who are dining in. I'm not sure council has the power to impose this condition but the operators of La Piadina need to be aware that locals like me are very unimpressed. We are so close to the ocean and taking care of the environment is on all of our minds.
