Definitely a NO on this
Why 15 units
How ridiculous
Our leafy suburbs are being destroyed with these sort of developments
Bring back the old overlays which limited large scale development
The previous council changed the overlays to benefit their coffers but ratepayers are paying more rates to look after the idyllic setting of the green wedge
Substantial trees should be saved for our declining wildlife
Total madness in this location the access rd is a footpath and very narrow so dangerous to have so many more cars using this track as well there is no access for the garbage truck how will 30 new bins be emptied and to dangerous during the construction faze
This proposal does not align with the character of the area, and will be dangerous for the location. This is also out of character (over development) with other areas were Nillumbik are allowing sub-divisions. The developer needs to take their plans back to inner Melbourne where it is more suitable.
Not sure how developments like this one align with Nillumbik's 'Eltham Urban Congestion Fund' (which appears to have no progress in 7 months according to the Participate Nillumbik website). Seems it will just add more cars to the road since critical cycling infrastructure doesn't exist on the eastern side of Main Road.
Further to Alison's comment above, make that 45 bins requiring collection if a third glass bin is introduced in future. Unless the rates collected from these dwellings will go to improving and implementing alternative transport options in the area, it's a 'no' from me.
This greedy, money obsessed developer paid $1.5 million for the block, so this equates to just $100,000 per site (if approved) a massive, massive profit. If this abomination is approved, it will be the most disgraceful development in Eltham’s history and will set a outrageously dangerous precedent. Every resident in Eltham needs to lodge an objection to this appalling application.
