Retention and extension of canopy in our City is an important principle and unless critical problem, these mature trees are important to retain.

These mature Sydney Blue Gums are endemic to the area and remnants of the original ecosystem. Mature trees like these are important islands in the habitat corridor between Artarmon Reserve and Lane Cove National Park for bird species such as the powerful owl. Unless there is a significant danger that cannot be addressed by pruning, they should not be removed.
