Demolitions are hazardous for nearby neighbours and passing vehicles in suburban streets. Particularly when more than one of them occurs close to another at a similar time. I know because this happened to me and I suffered several cases of damage to my personal property also severed Internet Lines and chaotic traffic in our Street.

Demolitions should be separate from DAs with a separate set of strict rules.

Demolitions are a fact of the rebuild process. Unless we are talking about a heritage listed home, and as long as proper care is taken by the company hired, then we should not be making it any more difficult than the DA process already is with most councils.

Some people are living in homes that were constructed by shitty builders and they are living with the knowledge that unforeseen injuries could occur at any time (as is the case with the home we are currently living in). We learned during minor renovations that the upper bathroom was not structurally sound.
