A shame this street is not heritage listed on the lhs heading towards Wood. It has architectural significance with original well built Californian bungalows. It would have desirable to protect these homes as the street had a unique feel . Already one house in the street has been demolished and rebuilt in a different style and now lays dormant with the landscaping not started. Now this perfectly good home in excellent original condition is being demolished. A failure of council.

Why is it necessary to demolish a perfectly good and well maintained house to build a 2 story ugly house which is not in keeping with the area? We have seen it happen time and time again, where people build these ugly houses and then sell them a couple of years later and we are left with a changing streetscape. This was one of the attractions when we bought into this area. That is the lovely older houses. There are 4 houses currently in our street where the houses have been given a 2nd story and another is currently having a 2nd story built. These houses look lovely and are in keeping with the area. One of the "newly" built (completed 3 years ago) is still vacant and the is an eyesore because the front yard is over grown with weeds. Last year I was quite concerned about snakes and used to walk on the road to avoid it. This year has been too wet, so not a great concern, but walking past is offensive, especially because the other houses have well maintained gardens. It lowers the tone of our street.
