Sir,
This area is a flood plain. In every flooding event in recent history, the area between Northpine River through to Leitchs/Scouts Crossing has been flooded.

Lessons are here to be learned. Do not develop on natural flood plains. These are lessons we are reminded of on every flood incident. Most recently where Gympie Rd itself has suffered costly damage.

Another reminder has been Toonbul Shopping Centre. Unable to recover as the area is Uninsurable.

If this area is developed it will either act as a flood barrier preventing water escape or suffer irreperable flood damage. Developing this area will lead to future, preventable, costs to the Tax Payer.

If this goes ahead, it will be just another example of our Council not looking out for the interests of our community.
Strathpine/Bray Park/Lawnton are transitioning regions which should be moving towards building a vibrant and rich community with sustainable and well organised development.

Building a mega pub with gambling on a flood plain across from a children's park is absurd.

Any time a new development has gone up in the area, the change to the water shed and flooding has resulted in previously unaffected areas being prime areas of flooding.

This entire proposal is irresponsible and unacceptable.
