No i don’t agree with this… what we don’t need in one block of Bayswater Road is ANOTHER nightclub which is what this is… restaurant yes nightclub no… there is zero parking as it is and people just wandering across the street in front of cars … no RSA at this time… add another nightclub and lockout laws will be back again… it’s a disaster waiting to happen on this area of Bayswater road

I used to care about this area, but then I moved to Newtown, where there is still life. May as well rename KX and PP 'Sunny Ridge Retirment Home'.
I welcome any new live music venue with one proviso - that Council is in control of noise levels, not the promoters.
Current CoS DA consents for nightclubs have words to the effect "... noise not to be more than 5db above ambient, before midnight, and not audible in any habitable room, after midnight."
That has proven to be a completely unworkable condition. It poses a massive burden on residents to be available after midnight for compliance officers to attend to monitor noise levels, and an equally untenable position for compliance officers in identifying the source of the problem, in heavily populated streets, such as Bayswater Road.
If the DA consent read "Noise emissions must be contained within the premises, at all times, and not audible on Council's footpath, at any time", the consent could be easily enforced.
As the Company applying to re-open this venue is new, and untested, residents have no idea how they will be treated, regarding noise levels. It is important that Council takes this opportunity to ensure that its officers are able to monitor and enforce noise conditions, for the health and well being of residents in the immediate vicinity.
As the promoters are planning to extend the entertainment area, this is a perfect time to ensure that sound proofing of the venue is adequate to protect local residents, particularly from amplified bass which has been known - often - to travel from this venue, through walls, double and triple glazed windows and doors, across roads, and into our homes.
Also, if there is an outdoor entertainment area patrons should be asked to go inside at midnight.
Thank you!
I totally support this. About time we get some life back into the kings cross.
This area used to be vibrant and alive.
Let’s bring back music and late night entertainment.
As a decades long resident I support this 100%
It’s great to more nightclubs and live music venues opening up in Sydney! Hopefully we can claw back our nightlife and night time economy and become the truly international city we claim to be
Can’t wait for this to open! Let’s reopen the cross!
Development applications like this are encouraging to see be brought back into the area and should be wholeheartedly supported. It shows that operators are willing to work with council to provide a safe and community friendly appeal to re-ignite the decades old kings cross nightlife. I applaud the operators for going through official steps to reopen.
This area is a designated entertainment precinct and should be protected and encouraged. While new residents may have moved here during a ‘lull’ or quieter time, many of the licenses and venues pre-date this residential encroachment. Communities work together, and when residents decide to move into an area that is not to their liking it should be at least a negotiation on both sides as to how any issues can be mitigated. It is clear that this venue and operator have this in mind by the submission of a DA, rather than continue to use the space for purposes against a pre-existing consent.
Sydney nightlife needs more venues. As a venue owner in the area I am very aware of the scrutiny and compliance expectations set out for venues from various enforcement and government agencies. Rejecting this proposal would undermine these protections in favour of residents who are I’ll informed and prepared for the location in which they reside.
Really looking forward to seeing some more vibrancy in the Cross. Wholeheartedly support this proposal
Great to see some more venues opening up for live entertainment, has been depressing seeing all the vacant shops being overtaken by private offices.
As a local resident I wholeheartedly support this.
I fully support bringing some life back into our area and all that comes with it. Hopefully this is just the first step towards some real change for the better. I urge you to approve
We need to revive Kings Cross,
It is a great idea and I support it at 100%.
Fantastic news. I completely support this application & hope to see more like it, bring back the fun to stale Sydney.
Hope all the wet blankets realise KX is a nightlife precinct, always has been and always should be.
Totally support this and support the nightlife returning to Kings Cross, great for businesses, great for tourism finally some life returning to Sydney.
They have my unwavering support. Bring back music and a vibrant nightlife in KX.
I live in Potts Point and fully support this. For too long now this area has been affected by the lockout laws and then the lockdowns, not to mention people who moved to this vibrant area and then complain about the noise.
The Cross and surrounding areas are an entertainment precinct and we need to get the nightlife back to these streets.
We need the council and government to support businesses that are trying to revive this area and add to Sydney’s long-missing nightlife as a main capital city in Australia.
Please don’t let a few loud voices dampen the spirit of the Cross!!
As a local resident I fully support the approval of this and the revitalization of the kings cross precinct. For too long we’ve given in to residents who move into a known nightlife area to only turn around and complain about noise after 9pm.
I have commented once but I will comment again… bring back the old cross…. I have lived here 30 years so not someone who hasn’t seen the cross at it’s best! What is happening now is one street… Bayswater Road… my street… is a disaster waiting to happen… AGAIN!!… bring back love music 100% but 100% spread it out!!! There are venues all along the strip that can take some of the stress off the residents of Bayswater road!! I want the CROSS back not ONE ROAD back!!!
Support this fully.
Let’s bring the area back to life.
Totally support this.

Any laws/regulations need to be reasonable so we doesn’t make it commercially impossible for businesses to thrive or even survive. There are only a handful of areas in Sydney that are entertainment precincts and we need to do all we can to help bring these back to life.
Since the lockout laws came into effect, not only were hundreds of businesses decimated, we’ve also been lagging far behind most international cities in promoting and supporting art, theatre, nightlife.
This is our chance to support and give out the right signal to those wanting to invest their money, time, effort, passion and livelihood into bringing back life into the inner city and surrounds.
