This part of the proposal I object to:
Existing front fence steel work between piers to be removed and existing low rendered brick fence to be extended to height just below existing rendered brick pier cappings.
The above work will dominate the surrounds and respond negatively to the surrounding context.
The above work will reduce solar access and breeze to the rooms within the dwelling.
The above work creates a fortress mentality which destroys community character.
The above work responds negatively to the heritage values of the site and the surrounds.
The above work sets a very poor precedent and must be refused consent by the responsible authority.
The local zone and City of Stonnington Planning Scheme among other matters requires dwellings to be subservient to the surrounding streetscape and a high brick wall is inconsistent.
The other aspects of the development application are unremarkable and I don't seek to oppose them.
