I think enough is enough. This Cafe already occupies a fair amount of public space. Any further allotment is not acceptable.

This is a great idea, the more life we bring back to Taylor Square the better. It's a dead zone and Freda's is breathe of fresh air. It's huge, under-utilised space.

This is a major traffic intersection and expectations of residential quietness should be lowered. People moved there knowing that this was a vibrant, nightlife area, and just because they've had two years of deathly silence, this should not create a new normal.

Taylor Square should be bustling, as should Oxford Street as Sydney last true, surviving entertainment strip/precinct.

Great idea. We need more cafes and bars that are on the street like this. It will help breathe some life into our poor dying suburb. Taylor Square is already ridiculously noisy, so I can’t imagine any outdoor activities will impact on the area at all.

I'm for anything that will help bring the vibrancy back to Taylor Square and Oxford Street. Cafe culture is central to this neighbourhood and indeed any thriving city.
Freda's is not only a great match for this spot (since closing down in Chippendale), it is an intrinsic part of what makes Sydney interesting! I truly hope they get to expand their outdoor seating. It can only be a positive in my opinion.

This is an entertainment precinct and therefore it should be entertaining. And I’m a local resident.

This is such a great idea. Fredas is such a quaint chill place that supports the creative arts that is important for the vibrancy of the city. Sadly so much has been killed off during the pandemic. The city really needs the right places like Fredas right now, but they are so short on space. This would be wonderful

It would be to see this go ahead. This area is in dire need of development planning the allows for venues to attract more people considering the area is an entertainment precinct. Lockout laws and COVID have had substantial impacts to the local economy and proposal like this, if ratified I this case, and more broadly throughout the inner city precincts will help revitalise the economy and culture in Sydney.

Further to the application by Fredas Cafe (cnr Oxfotd and Flinders Streets, Darlinghurst)., Council would be well aware that there is every probability that, in the short term, a major property development is to take place within metres of this venue (demolition of Albion House, and numerous nearby buildings)which will encroach upon adjacent nearby footpaths to Fredas..The safety of pedestrians has to be a consideration in Fredas Development Application.

It is time that we support our small businesses, who serve our diverse and creative communities. There is no better place to do this than Taylor’s Square. This especially applies in cases where a mega-development is due in the area. Outdoor dining is more important now, than ever. Cafe Freda’s is in a unique position to offer this service, in an iconic Sydney location, that was dormant for many years. Please support them and allow this outdoor use.

I support this proposal - we need more outside dining, more social engagement, more casual opportunities for fun and relaxation. What are cities for if not for people to live, work and play in? Empty spaces don't help anyone, and as noted above, this area is massive with plenty of room for everyone.

Fantastic idea, lets try to reserrect this once vibrant area that was the heart beat of Sydney

Fully in support of this! Freda's has quickly become a safe space for a lot of the young queer community. For me personally, working as an intensive care doctor during the pandemic, it's provided somewhere for me to relax, unwind and connect with like minded people after hectic work days.

They've breathed new life into Taylor Square and I know that business has been tough for them, especially since restrictions hit so close to the restaurant being set up!

I'd love to see them be able to extend their hours into midnight, and continue to energise Sydney's night life which has really lost its spark in the last few years.

I support the application - it’s a great spot for outdoors space and goes a small step towards supporting the creation of a vibrant and safe community.

A great idea. Outdoor dining is so needed on COVID times, and to work to revitalize Oxford street and Sydney nightlife generally is a real positive.
