No room on the (extremely narrow) footpath? No problem - just usurp a couple of parking spaces on the (extremely narrow) roadway. I guess we've now left the real world behind, where footpaths were for people and roads were for cars, either moving or parked. Anything goes now, and no problem if you want to seat your diners right underneath peoples bedroom windows until 10pm (sorry shift-workers). But what I find really amazing is: why on earth would people want to sit 'in the gutter' - which is basically where they will be - and have cars and trucks coming at them at speed just millimetres away as the vehicles come out of Orwell Lane!? Occupational Health and Safety, anyone? And why would any cafe/restaurant subject its patrons to that? Is that the new 'cool'? Strange......
It's a no from me.
