Current residents around Boronia Park need a local supermarket considering that Coles Gladesville will eventually be impacted with the GSV Development as per the Gladesville Masterplan. I note that the proposed LDA 2022/0023 states that the existing structures will be demolished and there will be construction of 2 & 3 storey mixed use development comprising retail premises within the basement, a cafe, a medical centre and a liquor store on ground with a child care facility within level 2. Can Ryde Council ensure that adequate parking is also provided for in this development, perhaps underneath similar to Harris Farm.

Very unhappy about this. First we lose out on all the petrol stations and now a supermarket. Whoever is doing the planning and approving of this area needs to have a rethink and stop chasing the easy money / wins.
This area doesn’t need any more apartments and certainly doesn’t need even less car spaces. The street is impossible to come out of my driveway with all the trucks coming in and out already.

Property owners and business owners should be allowed to do what they want with their property and/or business. Just because someone "feels" they should have a supermarket in their neighborhood it doesn't mean the management of said supermarket are forced to do so.

The management and directors of the supermarket are responsible to the shareholders of the company - that is law.

Please don't pander to the misinformed minority.

Agree with Jason. Property owners should be free to use land within the framework of the Local Environment plan.

It sounds like a very useful development, broadening the utility of the space with medical centre and child care facility. Congratulations to the developers and hope it succeeds enormously well.

If some residents want a petrol station, they should feel free to build one themselves.
