Will bring increased noise levels into a densely populated heritage residential area.

I can't agree about the increased noise level concern when the venue is right next to a main road. If anything, it provides a good argument for continuing calming of the main road, and I would like to see more similar initiatives.

Perfectly reasonable to allow this proposal even in normal times, but more so during a pandemic where we know ventilation is critical to limiting the risk of transmission.

Complaints about noise are nonsensical given it is on Moore Park Road, a busy road with two lanes in each direction. The noise level of human conversation is 60-70 dB, which is the same as a car driving at 50km/h (the speed limit on Moore Park Road). Motorbikes and trucks can easily exceed 90 dB.

It is also next door to one of the biggest sports and events complexes in the country, where events can easily go past the proposed hours of this application.

I fully encourage the council to approve this proposal.

I'm concerned about the use of the footpath on residential Regent Street for late-evening dining and drinking. Also when there is a major sporting event, crowds outside the pub make the corner impassable, so how will this work? The application needs to be looked at with residential amenity carefully considered.

For heavens sake, all these complaints no doubt from new residents who’ve just paid exorbitant amounts of money to move into the area during the pandemic that has closed venues and they now want to stop the pub from being able to accommodate a decent crowd for sporting events. Honestly I’ve spoken to many Europeans who’ve recently moved here and we are becoming an internal embarrassment as the wishes of a tiny minority ruin any chance of a vibrant city. Outdoor space is safer for people. The reason Paddington is such a great place is because you can socialise. Let the pub have their request and bring back some vibrancy to Sydney.
If you want quiet nights and no people socialising then move back to the boring suburbs from whence you came.

I strongly support this and believe it would add be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Noise should not be a problem for a range of reasons:

    - A very large area of the ground floor walls of the hotel is made up of windows and doors that are kept open in warm weather, but the noise produced at the hotel has not been an issue.

    - The proposed dining strips are quite narrow and so won't the accommodate large tables where people may need to speak loudly to be heard at the other end.

    - There are no residences on the other side of Moore Park Road and the residences on the other side of Regent St present solid brick walls with no openings.

    - The level of noise that traffic on Moore Park Road and events at the stadiums can produce greatly outweigh the sounds outdoor dining would produce, so one would expect that the nearest residences already have measures to mitigate external noises.
