Disgraceful. This is the beginning of the end of our beautiful beach village.

    NO...
Three stories at that location kills everything Sellicks is about.
We welcome upgrade and sensible development but not 3 levels.

I worry it will set the precedent for builders down the track to build big multi level appartments which is not what Sellicks needs.

This project with three stories seems overkill based on the aesthetics and feel of our wonderful part of the world. If this is approved it will establish a dangerous precedent where others will follow, without question. That's the way it works, where the return on investment is the principal driver, not the culture, feel and ambience of a wonderful little community.

The old building was in poor state. This new building will be fresh and modern. We look forward to having a better shop and post office.

This 3 storey development is not appropriate or needed in this area
It sets a precedent which will ruin the village atmosphere of area
It is overkill and totally unnecessary
    Not wanted by residents

This development is against everything that Sellicks Beach residents are wanting for this area. A 2 storey building that fits in or enhances the village like coastal environmental wetlands and woodlands would be acceptable. We are trying to keep Sellicks natural and free of overdevelopment. A new 2 storey post office, shop and residential apartments would be ok but not a 3 storey monstrosity. It would set a bad precedent for other money driven investors and would undo all the hard, good work done by the community with the wetlands and natural environment protection and expansion.
For the sake of climate change and disappearing wildlife and vegetation please don't approve the structure as it is now. Thank you.

Sellicks beach isn't meant to be glitzy and glamorous. Please don't approve this structure as it has been proposed. We want a new building to fit in with its surroundings, not stand out and be an eyesore.

Appropriate development, in line with our changing climate is what is required for Sellicks Beach. Three storeys is not appropriate within the front line coastal zone. Small scale sustainable development and some more zoned commercial spaces along the esplanade to add choice would be more appropriate than three storeys.

This is completely out of place, should be at Henley Beach. Take it back and start again. Doesn't go with the feel of Sellicks Beach. A three story is inconsiderate and ignorant to the wishes of the people that lived in the area. Seems like again, Developers and the Money men running over the little people to get what they want. People come to Sellicks Beach to get away from it, it's not Glenelg or Henley beach.

  14. Kaye Davidson commented

An upgrade to the commercial ‘precinct’ of Sellicks Beach is needed. However, 2 stories is adequate in line with other buildings on the Esplanade. Any higher would be an eyesore. And, yes, as has been said, it would cause a precedence for future development.
