At no time during lockdown was Maloney's Grocer closed. If anything their profits were elevated and do not believe that Crown Street can lose any more parking spaced for kerbside dining for Maloneys. The have never have never provided as sitdown venue and Surry Hills is screaming for parking. Parking not only for deliveries to and pick-ups from shops, but also residents, customers and visitors. Please do not remove unnecessary parking spaces for the next eight months. Maloneys is not a business that has suffered during lockdown. If anything they have thrived.

@irena hatfield, you are right, but to be fair, this application is for footpath space, not roadside parking space. I don’t think any parking will be removed.

Parking only encourages car ownership and given it's 2021 it makes more sense to find alternatives to cars, such as public transport, GoGet, Ubers, taxis, bicycles and scooters (both electric and manual) and even walking! 90% of cars are not being used 90% of the time, that's a complete waiste of usuable space.....let's claim back that space for everyone to use.
