With these 164 apartments added to the 460 on the Channel 9 site it would appear that an additional 1200 resident cars will be added to the community and will result in excess of 2,000 extra movements through the limited intersection at Willoughby and Artarmon Roads.
What improvements are proposed be made to an already overused and congested major intersection where we residents on the Eastern side using Small Street already have to wait regularly through several changes of the traffic lights to be able access Willoughby Road?

Here is yet another major development that borders onto Flat Rock Creek and the Flat Rock Gully catchment area. The other development is the Garland Street site in Naremburn. 164 apartments replacing 24 houses in Walter street. This area borders a sensitive wildlife protection area and bushland with Flat Rock Creek leading down under Bicentennial reserve, remnant old growth bushland, Tunks park playing fields and then the creek leads out to Middle Harbour.

I am concerned about the removal of any proposed mature trees, these need to be retained as they provide valuable bird breeding habitat and hunting grounds.

The demolition and construction of buildings need to be strictly monitored to ensure that the site is contained and no debris from building and demolition escapes into this water catchment and sensitive fish breeding creek - yes this has been documented in the EIS for the Beaches Link. There should be no stockpiling of building debris as it should immediately be removed in case of heavy rain that will carry it into the creek.

Once again this major development in the Flat Rock Gully catchment area is happening at the same time as the development in Garland Street Naremburn, the Chanel 9 site and possibly the Beaches Link primary dive site that will be in operation for up to 5 years and an estimated 950 construction vehicles per day will pass on and out of the Flat Rock Gully reserve site. What plans are in place to ensure that surrounding residents and children playing in surrounding playing fields will be protected from construction dust, increased truck movements and diesel fumes and all the increased congestion in the streets around Naremburn, willoughby south and surrounding suburbs? School children travelling to school and walking through this area are also impacted when walking or cycling to school with these cumulative developments and increased traffic.
