I disapprove of the development going up at the end of my road. People live in the area to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city life and now it is knocking on our doorstep. We live in a rural area and yet the blocks that are being sub divided are not even big enough to keep livestock on except chickens what is the point of that. Would it not be a better idea to actually divide the blocks into 5 acre blocks so people can at least keep a horse or a sheep. This would fit in with the aesthetics of the rest of street being mostly consistent of large blocks. We also get a lot of wildlife in the area with more traffic they will be getting killed a lot more. The area is not set up for that sought of traffic. It is hard and dangerous enough now getting on to the d’aguilar highway now.

Agree with Scott Hunter's comments. We moved into Chappel Road in 1987 for the quiet Rural lifestyle. We have loved it here and planned our retirement around our quet area. This is now being threatened. That block in question is beautiful and it would be a shame to divide it down to little house blocks. There is also Monkeybong Creek that flows through it....it in turn flows into the Stanley River then on to Somerset....I dread to think of what will drain into it for that amount of house blocks.
The wildlife in the area is also struggling with losses in the local Macropod population increasing.
My other concern that I have noticed all the years is the lack of services for our area. Public transport is almost non-existent making it difficult, if someone doesn't drive, to even simply go to the local shops.
Finally, Chappel Rd itself was constructed it the mid 80's to handle 'local' traffic only, add the residents of 37 home extra is going to be interesting.
I understand that there will be progress.... but this is beyond belief and doesn't take into consideration the existing residents who moved into the area for a quiet semi rural life.

Agree with previous comments. This is a rural area and does not have the road infrastructure to cope with the proposed level of traffic increase. People don’t want street lights and road noise in rural areas. There are no footpaths along this road to deal with an increase in pedestrians especially to the local school. There are kangaroos and wallabies in this area who seek refuge on this land after having all of their other habitat developed on bleakley road delaneys creek. Has anyone done a survey for koala habitat seeing as they are also now endangered and need habitat preservation more than ever? This proposal does not compliment the rural feel of the area and should not go ahead.

So disappointed with these larger property owners cashing in on the property price increases. MBRC should be limiting these developments as the infrastructure ie roads power and water are not up to all the extra load that will occur. Chappel road was not built to cater for the extra traffic, will there be an upgrade to the T intersection to Mt Mee road? ....will the developer be required to improve this....I think not!!
The fauna is suffering from habitat loss but the MIGHTY DOLLAR trumps any care for some poor helpless animals.
The developers are required to leave trees but the new owners can remove what ever they like, so what is the point.
All in all it's impacting on the quiet life most of us moved here for.
This development does not have merit and therefore it should not be approved.

I TOTALLy agree with the previous 2 comments, Both Roberta and Scott are right on the money, it's a RURAL area for a reason, it city people want to live in the country, then there's plenty of area for that at Caboolture that is being cut up, out here, we LOVE our country life and being away from our neighbours and the city hustle and bustle, this will only destroy the ecosystem and creeks that surround us here, council SHOULD consider the people that are already here and NOT the $$$ that can be made by cutting up a rural area into boxes that are suburbia ! We left Morayfield for this very reason !
If you want to cut it up, make it at least 5 acre lots!

Everyone that has commented is correct. This area should not be cut up to produce more sardine can cities where house tops reach each other. No one can sustain living like this for long unless they are desperate. With every new house built rubbish is dumped, our eco system suffers along with wild life habitat. I have first hand experienced the uncaring developers when clearing for development - animals are sacrificed, no one cares about them except those living in the area getting cleared. You only have to look at our Koala population to see the devastation over developing has on Australian Native Wildlife. Leave those who sought a peaceful life in peace and go elsewhere. Even with 5 acre lots the roads here will not cope with extra traffic and the entry from Mt Mee Rd into School Rd is bad enough - what will happen with double the traffic. Forget about the dollars, do the right thing by the environment and the people who live in this area for once.

This application needs further investigation. There was water runoff issues and traffic issues with the road leading into this road within a school zone. Also there needs to be a wildlife corridors in a suitable configuration. Until the council provides further INFRASTRUCTURE THIS DEVELOPMENT SHOULD NOT PROCEED.
