Surprise surprise ! Initial plans rejected by council , rejected by 2 independent planning panels then approved in land & environment court against large local opinion … and it begins ….the slow creep for more . A modification here a modification there . Watch this space for what we ultimately end up with on this prominent corner … developers and greed winning and then grab for more by stealth.
Basement configuration was pointed out in the early objection submissions …. Sigh

Excellent summary Jane, and fully concur with what you've said. It should never have been approved... the Land & Environment Court went against the community and the planning panels. Shame on them.
good morning , I am a resident of smith street and feel we have been cheated by the
grab of big business. No way should this have been approved in the first place and
can hardly wait for the development to begin. The traffic will be horrendous with the
traffic on our terrible one way street with school buses and the free bus service.
Harbour street was a heritage listed street of 4 storey height restriction - I am very
sad to realise that money has more power than common sense .
