I wonder how much importance is placed on biodiversity when so much vegetation is disappearing from Vasey Concourse.and changing the character of this, which was in the past, a green leafy Maroondah area.
Real Estate values must surely plummet when the tone of the area is diminished.
It seems to be a choice of either buildings or nature.

I wonder how much importance is placed on biodiversity when so much vegetation is disappearing from Vasey Concourse.and changing the character of this, which was in the past, a representation of the green leafy Maroondah area of which the council has been proud to boast.

Not only the distinctive green surrounding of this unique pocket of Croydon is threatened, the increase of traffic in the surrounding peaceful narrow semi rural footparh-less roads will put the safety of pedestrians at high risks.
One of the big trucks for a nearby construction knocked over my bin that was put well aside of the road when it literally flew pass Montana Parade which it used as a short-cut. Another occasion, another truck smashed the tail light of a elderly lady's car when she slowly pulled our of her driveway when it drove really fast on such a narrow and winding road like Montana Parade, and ran away without stopping.
If this application is approved, it will not only wreck the natural habitat of countless of native animals and birds, it will put the neighbourhood under the risk of heavy construction traffic and increased traffic in future.
The trail at the south of the site (between Moralla Ave & Cheong St) can be considered to be upgraded to a proper street. I believe that this will ease the local traffic and also improve the surrounding security. The surrounding bikers especially who commute to Croydon train station may like this idea too.
I like nature like others do but the site is on private property instead of public place. We should not put our personal preference on to this private site in my opinion.
It is not bad idea to have more people to utilise the place. The more utilisation of a land in a proper way, the more increase in value of the land and the surrounding is.
