There are quite a few trees in this locality that host termite nests, while still seemingly remaining healthy. The advice that I have recieved is that these are not necessarily detrimental, and not necessarily a threat to buildings, the tremites being of a variety that does not typically attack the sort of wood usually found in houses. The removal of five trees would seem to be a sad loss for the neighbourhood.
