I oppose this proposed development due to its size which is totally out of character with the street;increased traffic that will be generated in a residential street by the size of this construction which will potentially cause a hazard to pedestrians as well as motorists.
This street consists totally of residential homes surrounding this property and as with this property they are overwhelmingly over a century old. A large development like this DA would be totally out of place with its surrounds.
The neighbouring properties would be detrimentally affected by this in many ways some of which include
* parking problems
* noise
* decreased property value
* traffic hazards

I strongly oppose this proposed development due to its size and the nature of the additional parking that has been a part of the proposal.

This kind of development is large scale and has no place in a residential street. There are multiple child care centres within close proximity (less than 5 minutes walking distance) and while a child care centre in this original home would make sense, one this size, for 76 children does not!

This is a heritage home in a residential street that has already been choked by McDonalds customers who frequent Highworth Avenue.

Residents are constantly complaining about traffic congestion from Forest Road due to the addition of tolls on the M5 and this just invites further disruption and disturbance in what should be a quiet community.

I object to the sheer size of this proposal, the proposed basement parking area and the level of construction that will take place. There is a lack of detail submitted with this proposal by way of documentation and this simply cannot be allowed to progress.

Absolutely the child care centre would be a great addition, however there is just no evidence that one this big needs to exist in this street or in any other residential area. Bexley does not have the volume of high rises that would demand this, nor is it the kind of business centre that would attract workers who are local to the area.

This would bring people from outside of our LGA to the centre and it can only mean more traffic, more disruption, more waste accumulation and more congestion.

This development is over the top, ugly and in total contrast to the heritage homes in the street.
There in enough traffic in the street with mc donalds, and the rat running of cars due to the M5 tolling.
there is plenty of child care in the vicinity, another 76 places is overrated.
Bayside planning panel, please consider the period home that they want to destroy, imagine the beautiful home that could be renovated to make a child care centre on a smaller scale.
please dont approve another monstrosity, for a beautiful old home

As much as it’s good to have childcare I feel this development is contributing to the destruction of Bexley’s history. I believe it is the best interest of childcare companies to keep the original facades of historic homes like this and surround them with the modern architecture to spark curiosity in young minds rather than just build a giant new building that looks like everything else.
I also worry that the road is not safe for such a development as I frequently have witnessed dangerous driving along highworth avenue including yesterday when a resident of the street backed out of their driveway without looking for oncoming traffic almost causing an accident.

I strongly oppose this house being knocked down to build a childcare centre. We need to retain the heritage buildings in Bexley. It is a busy street and there is no need for another childcare centre in this climate. Please consider the history and soul of this house - we need to stop knocking down old houses and building duplexes or monstrosities. we lose lovely houses that were built to last and replace them with shoddy rendered buildings with no character and assuming no trees left on the block. Please do not build this childcare centre.

I oppose the destruction of a heritage house and grounds. It is unnecessary to build yet another looming, oversized, concrete structure in a street moderated for single level houses. Two streets away is a massive childcare centre taking up two house blocks. The traffic in Highworth St is yet another issue with cars banked out of the entrance of McDonalds into the street making traffic a nightmare. Just because a space in a street becomes vacant does not mean a new oversized development can be dumped into that space. We need to keep small suburban streets livable, environmental and traffic clear.

This significant Bayside property features in Ron Rathbone's book on the history of Bexley. I urge the applicant to avoid demolition. A more sympathetic design could be considered that complements the character of the building. For more than a century, children have enjoyed this home's magnificent original features and generous gardens. Why would Montessori deny future generations this unique environment to grow and learn?
