The traffic on Barkers Rd is already appalling. Please do not put more high density housing on Barkers Rd - every time a resident of the proposed dwelling wants to turn right from Barkers Rd into their car park, a traffic jam will follow! We know this first hand, as we experience it daily with the apartment block on the corner of Barkers Rd and Malin St Kew.
Furthermore, the visitors to the proposed dwelling will park in surrounding streets, which again impacts traffic flow and makes parking more difficult for existing residents. As above, we already experience this with Barkers Malin apartments.
Aside from the pressure on traffic, I object to the appearance of a 3 storey dwelling. I think it should be limited to 2 storeys for the sake of our streetscape and the privacy of neighbours.

I object the proposed development due to following concerns,
1. The proposed three stories will definitely block sunlight and daylight penetration on the Barkers Rd and Edgevale Rd. The locals beloved street view of street views, especially on the Edgevale Rd will be ruined.
2. The traffic jams not only occur on Barkers Rd but also on Edgevale Rd, especially on the school traffic time. The proposed ten dwellings will make the local traffic jam condition worse. More 10 cars driving in and out the proposed basement car park may cause concerns on traffic safety for local pedestrians.
3. Beause of 10 dwellings on a site area, 909m2, I am wondering what the ratio will be between the impervious and permeable surface areas for the proposed design. I am concerning the rainwater ranoff will significant increase in volume from the site and that will not be considered as a sustainable development for the local environment.
4. The carpark reduction option will not be acceptable for a such size development on the location as it will make the on street parking situation worse.
The proposed reduction of visitor parking will exacerbate the contention for off street parking in Barkers Road and neighbouring streets - particularly in the southern end of Edgevale Road. Limited off street parking in Edgevale is already heavily contested by car owners attending school drop offs, Swinburne day students, day travellers by rail to the city from Glenferrie Station and tradesmen working on housing redevelopments in the area.
i therefore object to the proposal.

Somehow we missed the previous objections.......notifications, and we own next door!!! did the council send out information during 2021?
We received nothing from the council.
The traffic is already appalling and parking impossible!!!
1. Inadequate parking allowed, particularly with the impossible school traffic and parking. The parking allowed is totally inadequate.
2. Shading of 279 Barkers Road for a great deal of the day.
3. Changing the tone of the area into high density. This dense occupancy and super small units will add noise to the area, privacy lost.
WE have great reservation and object.
