Alto Ave has caught the attention of developers and we're seeing an increasing number of applications to remove trees, knock down and rebuild, subdivide. Alto Ave is a jewel in Croydon's crown. The beautiful trees are visible from all around, it being a hill. These trees are visible from Wicklow Ave and to all the travelers on the trains going by.

At a time when Councils have finally realised the benefits of trees, when they're planting trees in the Western suburbs to make it more like the Eastern suburbs, it's crazy to allow such wholesale clearing. The question has to be asked, why are they clearing? So they can subdivide? What kind of place do we want to live in? A baking hot oven or a green and leafy haven as per the Council's own directives.

Its' difficult to see what's behind this planning application because there are no details her at all. Three words. Three words is enough to remove trees that have taken tens of years to grow to maturity. There's something wrong with the system if this is the case.

I urge you to read your own Maroondah Vegetation Strategy 2020-2030. Here's the link: https://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au/About-Council/Planning-for-our-future/Strategies-and-plans/Maroondah-Vegetation-Strategy-2020-2030
You could take a peek at the Climate Change Risk and Adaptation Strategy: https://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au/About-Council/Planning-for-our-future/Strategies-and-plans/Climate-Change-Risk-and-Adaptation-Strategy-201819-202122
Maybe the Carbon Neutral Strategy is relevant too: https://www.maroondah.vic.gov.au/About-Council/Planning-for-our-future/Strategies-and-plans/Carbon-Neutral-Strategy

I object to this loss of canopy trees with no justification provided.
