The construction of two 2-3 story houses of height 9.5m on this block at 5 Mary St will have a adverse impacts on the 2 properties- No.7 and 9 Mary St, with regard to:-
1. the loss of privacy into these adjacent properties, if the new proposed houses have windows or balconies which overlook the adjacent properties;
2. overshadowing by the 9.5m height of the rear building ( at Robert St end).
3. closing in the visual area and feel of the properties at No 7 & 9, as a current existing building located at 11Mary/2bRobert St is also of 9.5m height. Therefore the construction of another 9.5m high building, at the 5 Mary St/Robert St location, will have a major impact on the properties at No.7 & 9 Mary St, with regard to visual aesthetics, privacy and overshadowing.
