One wonders if we need yet another petrol station on Kensington Road.
The streetscape will be very different spoiling the view of the adjacent Regal Cinema & other older stone buildings in the local vicinity.
Unnecessary unpleasant development.

Another OTR on Kensington Road will add tothe traffic congestion in the area.
Why OTR consider the need for a further site so close to their Glynburn Road sires at Burnside& Kensington Gdns & on Greenhill Road Linden Park is beyond me
I drive home that way from the city daily and there is no fuel from the city to the top of Kensington Road on the home trip.
Glad someone is finally using common sense and this has been approved.
The site is a run down workshop that is desperately in need of upgrading. It is on a major road and is not leafy Kensington like some like to argue. How it will spoil the view of the Regal Cinema or anything of note it beyond me. Perhaps we need to embrace a South Australian owned business that employs thousands and is bringing a wonderful quality offer to the community and one only needs to travel interstate to realise just how good it is.
Fully support it.
Paul Novata obviously drives home with his eyes shut if he has not noticed the Woolworths Caltex servo at Marryatville!
The description of the actual works.. 'a new integrated service station complex (etc)' suggests it is more than 'alterations and additions to an existing mechanical workshop building and change of landuse'.
I suspect the existing structure will need to be demolished to accommodate a development of the scale and nature they describe. The site should be checked for residual site contamination from the previous operation and remediated if necessary.
This seems to be more than alterations and/or additions to an existing facility and the application assessment should reflect this.
I believe that this site should be developed and made good but DO NOT believe that this is the right way/product to put there...especially if this ends up being a 24/7 operation which will impact residents and local restaurants. The closest restaurant will effectively lose its out door area as who wants to look at a servo whilst drinking and eating!
I am sure OTR will survive, perhaps more control on their activities would make them plan better anyway ....
This development was knocked back a few times, but seems council couldn't afford to keep fighting OTR.
When you have enough cash you can eventually get anything through.
Why it’s deemed necessary to have a THIRD petrol station in this 1.3km stretch between the two pre-existing petrol stations on Kensington Road is beyond me. Very disappointed that OTR has, yet again, prevailed. I for one will never stop here to fill up, even if they are giving away the fuel for free.
There is no need for another petrol station in this area.
There is one up the road (Erindale).
There is one down the road (Marryatville).
There is one around both corners (Kensington Gardens, Leabrook).
Do we need a petrol station in EVERY suburb?
This application has been denied multiple times for good reason.
A 24 hour business on the end of a quiet residential street is inappropriate.
A petrol station is out of keeping with the surrounding buildings (heritage housing on May Terrace, former Marryatville Primary School building opposite and cinema on the other corner).
This is a completely uneccessary project which will not add at all to the amenity or apprearance of the area if constructed.
I agree, we do not need another petrol station in the area. This is absurd.
Greed and arrogance has prevailed yet once again. At the very least, it should not be 24/7 . 6am until 9pm would be sufficient. Maybe parking your old Magna ,or commodore , at the end of glenalta crt burnside all night could extract some revenge.
