I am very worried about the traffic and congestion on this small street with two massive high rises opposite each other. Further shadows casted by two high rises would limit the sun exposure of this street.

To give perspective I own a unit in a neighbouring building on the same size block.
I have seen judgment and appeals of this project on a number of websites, but cannot see the current state of this development. Hopefully the non compliance of many codes and restrictions on a block this size means this design has been disbanded.
I am by no means against development in Broadbeach. But I am sure the councils plan when changing development codes was not to have individual towers on 607mtr blocks of land as a series of these, side by side would be detrimental to the cityscape of Broadbeach.
Please provide the current status of this development.
I am not sure if I have searched correctly.
One site states refused 1/6/2022 .
Scrolling on the platform for council development decisions is at times not easy .
There are too many high rises in the area .
One area of concern is empty sites that are prone to vandalism.
Hi Colyn Russel Sommer,
I have had a bit of a hunt around in relation to 25 Second Ave MCU/2021/283.
In Sep 2020 plans were approved for an 18 Storey Building - 16 apartments (NDIS participants) & 5 Sky Homes. The Operational Works for all of the sewerage etc were approved on 29 January 2024. It appears they are proceeding with the utilities required for the original submission.
I feel your pain, we are the tiny 5 level apartment block in Surf Parade now overshadowed by the 31 storey high-rise which has been going up for 2.5 years.
I am happy to give your Body Corporate the heads up on the legal battle we have had to endure from the developer, and the issues you will faced with by the builder. We wish we knew our rights etc prior to construction commencing as it has been a long and painful learning curve.

A copy of the judgement and approval is available on PD online. It shows a 14 level plus penthouse pool approved. It’s a good read if you are interested.
Yes, I have seen the online PDF.
Excessive excavation to make car parks .
I own 34 Armrick Ave. And very concerned because the land fronting the Gold Coast Highway remains vacant . I will be blocked if another large complex is built .
Demolition has commenced at 13 St Kilda , another 9 story apartment block, at the moment the site is an ugly site .
One needs face facts, GCCC under Tom Tate are destroying Broadbeach.
The only place left on the coast with character is Burleigh Heads, now the buyers choice!
