Because of a "merger" between what was the existing Samford Veterinary Hospital in Main Street, Samford Village & a much larger veterinary conglomerate, this is not the simple relocation of an already, existing operation to another site. As indicated in the development application, the operators intend to extend the business to include a dog day care, dog wash & equine surgery to 1 Serendipity Drive. These services are currently not operated at the Main Street location.
A large commercial operation on the intended site at 1 Serendipity Drive, Samford Valley will further compromise the safety of Samford Valley citizens making use of the the walking/cycling circuit (please note citizens presently park on the verge opposite 1 Serendipity Drive to access the walking/cycling path) & the general traffic movement from Serendipity Drive onto Main Street/Mt Samson Road as clients of the new veterinary hospital enter & exit the premises at 1 Serendipity Drive onto the corner of Serendipity & Mt Samson Road. Will it take a serious accident for MBRC to appreciate the traffic & safety implications for local residents by approving this application which is simply not appropriate for this location? Please give due consideration to this<

As a resident of Serendipity Drive this proposal greatly worries me. Not only the implications of turning residential zoning so easily into commercial and what the repercussions of that are, for future applications and way of life in Samford, but for the fact that this is not what I bought in this street for. A RESIDENTIAL street. Where the resulting noise, waste and car traffic will cause significant reduction in living conditions and quality of life in my residence.
I can’t imagine how this can be considered given the scale of the change to what is currently there and what is proposed.
Could the members of the council please consider - would you want this built a few houses away from you??
