I object to the use of the roadway outside of East Village.
- these roadway dining areas are great in Stanley St and main hubs, but we can't lose anymore parking in zone 21.
- The use of the public road outside Philly restaurant at 216 Crown St and The Colonel Indian restaurant at 118 Crown St, Darlinghurst have taken up 4 parking spots and there is nobody ever sitting there. Those restaurants are never full. it's a waste of parking spots. And there will never be anyone sitting in those spots over winter.
- it will be the same at East Village going into winter. There is enough room inside that pub (it is over 3 levels, and it is hardly ever full on every level) so they have enough room and do not need to use up our parking spots.
- There are just too many of these restaurant dining areas now. We can't afford to lose more parking spots. We all drive around and around and can't find parking.
- There is enough room on the sidewalk so East Village could put more tables on the sidewalk, they don't need to take up parking spaces.
You should only take away parking spaces if it's warranted and it's not in this case.

I live directly opposite East Village. My bedroom/office overlooks table area. It’s very noisy and I need to live with my blinds down for privacy and use artificial light from after 12 noon. Parking is a nightmare. My house is not permitted to have a parking permit even though I’m an owner. But there is zero street parking available most of the time already and Ubers have to double park. This street is mega busy and just crossing the road is dangerous. Inside the pub is empty most of the time. Pedestrian flow wld be forced to my side of the street. I already have smokers gathering outside and often block my entrance. I have to clear butts in the mornings. The outside tables often attract big numbers and are disruptive and the tables accumulate glasses etc as staff rarely make it outside. This is a very very busy thoroughfare for city access and cars drive very fast down the street. It’s not really a safe precinct for outside hospitality. It’s a frequent route for police and fire engines and the street is narrow. Adding more people to this already congested corner is a recipe for disaster in my view.

I object to this application. The East Village has a lot of room inside and is never full so it’s not justified to take away more parking spaces when it’s not necessary. The loss of parking from these street dining areas is already noticeable and it takes ages to find a parking space now.

I also agree with the other objections. In particular that several of the stand alone restaurants on Crown St (like Philly and Colonel) never have people sitting in the street area so has inconvenienced residents who can’t find parking and for no benefit.

There is already too much noise and congestion at the corner of the East Village and this will make it worse. The last thing we need is more drunk people outside until 10pm at night making even more noise.

The pub already has a big roof terrace and outdoor tables, and it’s not fair on residents for the pub to take up even more outdoor space, so please don’t let it encroach further on residents by granting this application.
