Complete disregard for its neighbours, this business causes chaos all day long and now they want to run it 24/7? Are they serious and is bayside even considering this ? To give residents no respite and expect them to function with no sleep is outrageous. Lawsuit waiting to happen

I object to the 24/7 operation proposal based on:
    1. Further extending the traffic congestion already caused by the BP.
    2. Noise for nearby residents who live in close proximity - this includes the noise of car traffic and constant lighting.
Bayside council need to start servicing the people in their remit, not just corporations.

I’d like to object to this proposal, it has been tabled a number of times previously and thankfully not approved.

This area of Botany is and continues be residential. Thousands of people have move into the while Commerical units have moved out. It’s already busy enough with traffic flows through the day. Allowing 24/7 business operations isn’t in keeping with the new profile of Botany, the area is for families, professionals and our old demographic. It isn’t the old Botany anymore, it’s changing for the better IMHO. Large commercial units are rapidly being replaced with residential units, those people want some peace and quite at night, this proposal won’t help.

I support this application and think it’s a great idea for the community

  6. Ann O'Brien commented

Great idea, needed in the area.

  7. David commented

This a great idea and needed for the area.

  8. Natalie Cardamis commented

I think it’s a great idea!! Botany is only going to grow and more people will move into the area.

    I’m all for it!!

  9. Damian Morris commented

Great idea. Botany is a growing suburb full of blue collar shift workers that are in need of out of normal trading hours businesses.

  10. Rachel Thornton commented

This is not wanted or required in our community!
It will increase truck activity 24/7 as well as noise and pollution 24/7!
The residents only get peace when this service station is shut, please allow us to preserve the peaceful night time amenity of the area.
The area already has enough petrol 24/7 stations nearby.
Botany is isolated and allowing 24/7 operation of this store would literally encourage unwanted traffic directly past residential housing.
This would also create a 24/7 destination for the already acknowledged hoons in the area!
They have applied for this more than once and the residents are fed up!

  11. Brooke Phillips commented

I support this decision as there is nothing else open late at night in this area and I would feel safer going to somewhere local especially late at night.

  12. Stephen D commented

    Definitely support this proposal.

    It’s about time!

We don’t have anything in this area (my suburb) open 24hrs.

  13. A Baker commented

Please do not make the BP 24/7. This will disrupt peace for the local community in that area causing increase in noise and traffic and disrupt sleep for those who live very close to the BP.
There are 24 hour service stations nearby that can be used instead.

  14. Sharni commented

I think this is a great idea, the area is in need of something with all night trading hours

My issue is around noise in what has become a very residential area, the airport has restricted opening, 11pm until 6am for the majority of flights and that’s for a good reason. Opening a petrol station 24/7 serves no one who lives in Botany, it only serves to encourage trucks and lorries to drive into a residential area at night, causing disruption to the increasing amount of people that call Botany home. Botany is historic, it’s changing, no long the industrial hub of the east, its residential now. Businesses have realised the value of there land and have sold up, moved west etc. The new residents live in relative harmony with Port Botany, the Airport and other smaller businesses but thy because there’s a balance around the needs of the business and the needs of residents. A 24/7 petrol station doesn’t fit this mode.

The only people to benefit are the owners of the BP, that’s it. Cars, trucks and lorries have plenty of choices to buy fuel and sites located at the airport, the M5 and at Port Botany. There’s zero need for them to be encouraged into Botany village. We have enough problems through the day with trucks illegally using Botany Road, this proposal will exacerbate that issue into the nighttime too.

  16. Wayne Simmonds commented

A further objection from me, in relation to high flow diesel pumps, these only serve large trucks etc. Even allowing there use at night will only encourage more large trucks at a time when locals should be sleeping, the noise, engine breaking, and late night traffic needs to be considered. It isn’t fair that we should have to put up with that. The airport is restricted from 11-6am (I think) but a petrol station the middle of our community wants to encourage trucks to drive here until 12pm and again from 4.30am! What happens to the truck that arrives early, does he turn around and go elsewhere? I suspect not, more likely that they sit on or near the site with there engines running, causing further noise and air pollution in Botany village.

  17. Natasha Piggins commented

I object to this proposal as it would cause a disturbance to the area within Botany.
It will cause noise pollution, environmental pollution & bring in heavy traffic causing consistent disruption to the residents around the area.
This kind of noise pollution can have a negative impact on the emotional and mental well-being of the residents around this area who will be subjected to 24/7 noise, fumes & pollution that will come of the proposal is approved.

There are also various 24HR businesses that are located within this area already there’s no need for another

  18. Nicole Hands commented

I object to the 24/7 operation proposal based on:
    1. Further extending the traffic congestion already caused by the BP.
    2. Visibility is already poor when entering Botany Road, increased traffic will increase the likelihood of accidents accuring without the council constructing some roundabouts. People and animals will lose their lives with the increase in traffic.
    3. Noise for nearby residents who live in close proximity - this includes the noise of car traffic and constant lighting.
    4. Increase in air pollution and rubbish from the increased in cars and trucks frequenting the area.

  19. Mags Tobin commented

    I object.

  20. Chris Rowney commented

I strongly object , a win win for everyone in the area is for a 24/7 service station and macca's on foreshore road near the boatramp, keep the truckwits out of BOTANY, does anyone know why this is the dearest service station in Sydney ?

  21. Suzanne Meli commented

Totally against this mostly residential and foreshore drive one block away. Completely bad planning with total disregard to ratepayers

  22. Teri commented

I am writing to you to object to the proposed development for a 24X7 BP patrol station on botany road.

There is already enough trucks that are detouring and using Botany road illegally to cut trough foreshore road.

Any truck or car breakdown on botany roads currently causes Significant delays exiting botany as botany Road is the only way to get out to south or to Sydney CBD.

Any trucks or large vehicles should be using foreshore road stations for refuelling purposes.

After 9pm The botany Road or the botany area is significantly quiet having a 24 hour petrol station will bring in significant amount of trucks are the cars potentially that are detouring The airport.

Not to mention the current BP is very small and cannot cater for large vehicles or trucks that are trying to refuel which is causing huge delays in the morning for residents trying to leave and go to work.

Lastly current noise levels on botany Road during the day with trucks and cars travelling through botany road is significant having a 24 hour petrol station will just add to that specially when you have large trucks but I’m now coming through botany road to avoid going through foreshore road

  23. Dion Totten commented

I am writing to object this proposal as the traffic and congestion is already out of hand at all hours of the day not to mention the noise that is constant with horns and people leaving their cars on all day the only break you get is is when the BP shuts. I will be having a new born child mid year and cannot not stress trying to put a new born to sleep with the chance of a truck to pull up in the BP and release the pressure from the air brakes.

  24. Natasha Dambrosio commented

I object to the 24/7 operation proposal based on:
    1. Further extending the traffic congestion already caused by the BP. I live in the opposite Street and it's impossible to get in and out of the street each morning , you need to leave at least 10 minutes earlier to get through the traffic and backed up trucks outside BP.

    2. Noise for nearby residents who live in close proximity - this includes the noise of car traffic and constant lighting. The trucks cause excessive noise as well as thehotns when there is constant near misses trying to turn out if Livingstone street and almost being taken out by drivers unsafely turning right out of BP .

There is no need for 24/7 operation in this area .

I support this proposal. Botany need more people, more business and more vitality.

  27. Citizen Cane commented

I support this proposal provided the hi flow facilty it open the same hours as the curfew. The plane noise is significant anyway so 6.00am to 11pm is reasonable given the port is 24 hours and you hear it as well as the trains

I don’t see why we have to drive out of the suburb all the time when this facility is providing essential. There are no other options so you have to create traffic anyway to find alternated

  28. Citizen Cane commented

Think it’s a great idea and they are limiting heavy truck access which I think should start at 6.00am not 4.30am - otherwise it would be nice to have somewhere to go post 10.00pm which currently is outside Botany. It should be noted there are now three 24hr gyms in botany so they are ok but not food etc ?
