Despite the amendments made to this proposal the core issues with a development of this scale remain. The north end of Cope st is a largely residential street comprised of century old terraces, many owner occupied. There is still no parking for cars which will create additional pressure on the limited on street parking - the construction period will also impact. The proposed 5 storeys will limit light and views of the church spire in Regent St. Our experience with a similar facility located on Renwick st is that there will be challenges with garbage and noise. These units will not add to the stock of affordable housing in Redfern as they will be rented at market rates. The revised design does not go far enough to address the concerns raised throughout the DA process.
