When Subaru had the lease on this site they fitted a very large digital sign board facing the Pacific Highway, it was lit day and night. The light and motion emitting from the sign after sunset was so intrusive to the residents living across the road and for drivers using the south bound lanes of the Pacific Highwa. It became a driving hazard as the motion and flashes of colour would distract driver, when the role of the driver is to concentrate on the road ahead. After some time Subaru removed the sign, it was a bad idea then and it is a bad idea now with the new tennant, Lexus, on the site.

Dear Council,
(Maree - Yes, I recall this but I believe this is not the Lexus address but the large billboard above White Lady Funerals on the corner of Corona and Pacific. It looks like it is intending to replace the large billboard above White Lady Funerals and the Framing Factory.)
I believe it is unjustified as there is a large Digital Billboard already on the railway bridge over Boundary Rd just 180 degrees in the other direction. This is commercial clutter and degradation of our urban environment at an very busy and safety sensitive intersection..
The result would be significant visual clutter and distraction at this very busy intersection
Can Council formulate an official position on digital billboards in general. Is this possible? Some years ago Council regulated shop signage and banned animated signage in shop windows.
