Area is already heavily overcrowded, this development along with the proposed increases to the Meriton development will only place further stress on and already struggling local area due to overcrowding as has been present during summer.
This isn’t needed , it’s building for the sake of profit and nothing more .

There has been DAs on this plot of land for years for a much smaller development. They were always knocked back until finally it was approved last year when they got around the issue related to the ES banksia scrub. Now they've worked out how to get around that hurdle they withdraw the original sized plan and are doing a Meriton and going BIG (3 times the size of the last DA from memory). What a joke! How will the local traffic traffic cope? What guarantee if its approved, they wont go bigger? This needs to be rejected. The owners of the property clearly don't give a toss about the area judging by the burnt out car that's been there for 3 months.
There is no need for this size of development in the area. We are already experiencing large crowds and a significant increase in traffic. We do not have the infrastructure to support this development. Our roads and public transport are not sized for this type of development.
The area is not suited for the proposal, far too big for the small plot of land and will ruin the aspect of the area. Parking and rubbish around the area when people frequent the beach or national park is already an issue for locals. Just this summer alone, children who used to play along their street or in the front of their house cannot do so anymore due to increased strangers in the area and these people drive way too fast, fighting for carpark and etc. With a bigger development, more people traffic, this will cause over congestion of an already existing problem. I would hope the council with take into consideration the viewpoint of locals who actually live in the area and also consider the environmental impact. They have already cleared the land and caused much disturbance to the wildlife. Birds that used to frequent the tress are no longer seen. Frogs that used to be heard singing are now silent. Please say no.
Enough already, this is natural bushland, go away were full
Proposals like these need to be refused for larger developments if they already have approval. It is simply manipulation of the process to meet the greed of the developer. Refuse the proposal.
The west of Jennifer St is beautiful bush land and it’s already absurd that a small plot of land on that side is deemed suitable for development. And now to ask for a development that is double the size is outrageous.
I would object as overdevelopment will likely destroy the bush land, it’s wildlife and the surroundings. East of Jennifer Street dwellings are all of individual house of only 1-2storey and this development will take the view of it’s current resident.
Little Bay as a suburb currently does not have the infrastructure for big projects. The main roads lead to a peninsula, lack of good schools and daycares and there is lack of public transport compared to other suburbs. Jennifer Street also leads to a dead end and a development of that size will bring traffic congestion that already Little Bay suburb cannot handle. Please object and they should just build what was already approved. No more upgrades.
First, how many bites of the cherry is allowable for this developer? Essentially traffic congestion is at its maximum. Besides we have ‘ the rat race’ of golfers departing St Michaels Golf Course to get home. They mostly exceed speed limits down Jennifer St to Anzac Pde. Jennifer St is a 50k zone. Coincidentally, one pedestrian has been killed already on Jennifer & Anzac Pde. Moreover, golfers are now using Dawes & Reservoir sts to beat the rat race. Imagine our sts if this DA is approved? It’ll be catastrophic, especially with the “Paraplegic Centre”, located in Jennifer St near this development and now, the large volume of children in the area. Please stop this DA and consider your constituents and ratepayers...
This is a peninsula. The traffic, parking and overcrowding issues are already incredibly stressful even if there was no more development from this point onwards. Enough!
This planning proposal is inappropriate for the size of the piece of land. We should be protecting the natural bush land instead of greedy overdevelopment. The traffic along Anzac Pde is horrendous in peak hours and the way into this part of Little Bay is through quiet residential streets. Ask the developers to have another crack at it!
We may live in a corporate world but COVID has demonstrated its fragility and impact of crowding. Increasing this development is unwarranted except for greed, it is not good for the community, environment, safety, road congestion the list is endless. We are on a peninsula, the extent of overdevelopment proposed will have serious impacts without getting started on the proposed Meriton development, comments for another day.
Please head the community’s concerns they are real not just not wanting change but wanting sensible development. Please listen!!

This is outrageous. It is only good for Greedy Meriton, who only thinks about profit and nothing else. This area is already overcrowded and there is no infrastructural capacity for this development.
I can’t believe that this DA would even be considered by Council. The initial application should not have been approved.. This is just pure greed from the developers. There is no infrastructure, it is not in keeping with the surrounding street scape and there is not enough parking.. The council needs to listen to its community and stop these developers playing the system. We do not want this to go ahead say NO !

It’s an absolute tragedy that another Triguboff cancer is being allowed to spread to this area, until so recently pristine, now strained by the developments there. Little Bay is an area for golf and beach recreation, still rather sleepy and a little bit off the beaten path. Why blight It with another low-quality abomination of investment units and high rise sub-mediocrity? Game of mates much?
Why wasnt this area protected by Council? Its a Critically Endangered vegetation one of very few sites left
Its unacceptable as council declare a Climate Emergency
While it’s refreshing to see a development with family sized units (3-4 bedrooms) the overall size is unnecessary in the area. Reducing the size enables it to fit in with local surroundings and reduce traffic impacts. What changes are being made to local infrastructure to cope with this expansion? What remediation is being made to the local bush that will be impacted? So sad to this this piece of urban bush disappearing into someone’s back pocket once again.
This New Application DA/698/2020 to Develop over twice the size of original approval (44 dwellings increased 101) will see the Rare EASTERN SUBURBS BANKSIA SCRUB, a Critically Endangered Plant community, possibly wiped out.
ESBS is a Critically Endangered Plant community and the term ‘Critically Endangered’ means that it is regarded by the Scientific Committee as close to extinction".
Does that not account for anything?
Land belongs to all Australians not just developers and government .
All the objectors writing here are WAY TOO LATE.
Randwick Council rejected several DAs for this site over the last 10 yrs. Eventually a pared-back plan went to the Land & Environment Court. The Judge basically re-designed the buildings on the block so that it would comply (I was there in the Court, it was a 3-day case); the developer drew up the changes overnight & presented the altered plans the next day. The judge was happy.
Then came the argument over the viability of the Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub on the plot. It is critically endangered and cannot be recreated. The edges of the lot were heavily weed infested due to the owner's neglect, but could have been brought back to good ESBS by careful weeding and rehabilitation, as the soils are intact. There was also a lot of dumped rubbish as it has never been fenced, but the bush had grown up around car bodies, thousands of stray golf balls, etc.
Randwick Council put up a good expert against the developer's expert, but in the end they both agreed that ESBS could be moved if done very carefully, taking all the soil with it. So that was made a condition - any areas of ESBS that were in the way of the proposed buildings would be carefully moved to the Cullen's range side, along with the soil the bush is growing in. The developer also agreed to a bush management plan which included burning every so often to keep the bush healthy.
How it's going to work I have no idea; I fully expect all the ESBS on site to die by overshadowing by the new buildings; trampling by residents; altered rainfall and groundwater regimes, altered sunlight, etc. I have no idea who will be ensuring that the bush is protected, or the parts to be moved are moved properly and looked after.
It's a total tragedy that this small parcel of land was Zoned Residential years ago rather than NP - it could have been added to the Jennifer St Section of Kamay Botany Bay NP, which it abuts. It forms part of the larger ESBS remnant, which is deemed so precious that it is protected in a NP.
Now this developer will make many $millions, and our precious irreplaceable bush will be the loser once more.
Don’t reward developers who let the critically endangered eastern suburbs banksia scrub deteriorate and then use that deterioration as an argument to clear it instead of restoring it. Say no to this excessive development which will create traffic and parking problems and contribute to habitat and species loss.
ESBS is a Critically Endangered Ecological Community and is the character of Little Bay.
ESBS is Critically Endangered, with as much fractioned bushland as there is in this heavily developed area, it is irresponsible to damage more. This is a priceless and irreplacable vegetation community.
It is essential that Randwick City Council and the NSW State Environment Protection Office rule that this rare Critically Endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub Plant Community, be protected. We need a Law stating that this area must be only developed with the ESB scrub neither damaged or removed.. It is ONE of only a few still remaining in Sydney and is in an Environmentally sensitive National Park area.
We cannot allow more over developments at this rampant pace to continue to be approved, as it is already difficult to navigate our streets, use public transport, park, shop, visit parks and beaches, get places in local schools & a bed in our Hospitals.
Please say NO and Halt these over kill developments & Developer Greed for once and for all !!
Bulk and scale of the proposed development is too large and does not fit in with the existing streetscape. Need to reduce the number of apartments, height, and scale of the building to fit in with existing neighbourhood typical height and building character. The local area is already too overcrowded.
The developer got what they wanted but now for them to come back wanting to make the plan bigger is ridiculous, wasn't this the reason it was approved in the first place with the developer having to make cut backs on the size of the development. Little Bay won't cope with the original plan let alone a larger scale one. A firm NO needs to be given to the developer. Please take into account the rest of the community and the surrounding bushland.

No more building for profit only - we, the people, want our nature & green spaces more than yet another overdeveloped, overpopulated dense housing structure!
Stop!! Before it is again, too late.
What an absolute joke! Everything needs to be done to stop these greedy developers, with no regard for the local community or environment. There will be too many people, too many cars, too much noise, destruction of the landscape, and a massive strain on all local services like schools, beaches, hospitals, shops, parking. Moving the critically endangered ESBS (even with all the soil) sounds like a pathetic attempt at a solution to a much bigger problem.
