While I am supportive of outdoor dining it needs to be properly regulated. Footpaths are community property, too many venues block footpaths with excessive tables and seats. I also believe that if a business is given a right to use footpaths for this purpose then they are receiving a benefit other taxpayer are not, therefore there should be a commensurate contribution to the public coffers.
